Earth, water and air. 2014 Olympic Day in Kyiv Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital hosted today the annual Olympic day celebration dedicated to this year’s 120th anniversary of the International Olympic Committee. The organizers declared the 2014 Olympic day as an aspiration for peace and unity of Ukraine.
Sergey Bubka met newly appointed Korea Ambassador in Ukraine Sergey Bubka, Ukraine NOC President, met recently appointed Ambassador of Korea Mr Sul Kyung Hoon on Thursday, July 10th, in the NOC Headquarters in Kyiv. Ukraine NOC Head of Office Mr Juri Tamm and Korea Vice-Consul Mr Park Seong-ho participated as well.
Sergey Bubka took part at the UNESCO ambassadors’ meeting The Annual Meeting of UNESCO Honorary and Goodwill Ambassadors took place in organization’s headquarter in Paris, France, under the chairmanships of UNESCO Director-general Ms Irina Bokova. Ukraine’s Olympic Champion Sergey Bubka took part at the meeting along with musician Mr Milton Masciadri (Uruguay), art expert and actress Mrs Guila Clara Kessous (France), sculptor Mr Amri Aminov (Tajikistan), musician Mr Chico Bouchikhi (France), etc.
Olha Kharlan has received her record 7th «Athlete of the Month» Award Star sabre fencer Olha Kharlan and her coach Artem Skorokhod have received their honours as «Athlete of the June 2014» and «Coach of the June 2014» respectively in the Ukraine NOC office in Kyiv on Thursday, July 3th. The awards were given by the Sergey Bubka, Ukraine NOC President. For Kharlan, who is double Olympic medalist and multiple World and European Championships’ medalist, it was a record 7th «Athlete of the Month» award.
NOC Athletes’ Commission takes care of their colleagues from the Eastern regions NOC Athletes’ Commission members met today in Kyiv under the guidance of Oleksandr Krykun, Commission’s Head and Olympic medalist, and with the participation of NOC President Sergey Bubka. Olympic medalists Natalya Donryn’ska (athletics), Valery Honcharov (artistic gynmastics), Viacheslav Oliynyk (Greco-Roman wrestling), Olena Hovorova (athletics), Larysa Zaspa (handball), Olena Pakhol’chyk (sailing) took part in the meeting discussing the possibilities to help their fellow athletes from the East of Ukraine.
OFFICIAL INFORMATION ON LVIV-2022 OLYMPIC BID «Following positive discussions between the IOC President, Thomas Bach, the Ukrainian Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, and the President of the Ukrainian NOC, Sergey Bubka, all parties have agreed that Lviv will turn its attention to a bid for 2026, and not continue with its application for 2022.
