Dozens of Kyiv scolars joined new #OlympicLab project

Premier Palace Hotel, which is the partner of the National Olympic Committee, welcomed today the second stage of new #OlympicLab project initiated by Ukraine youth ambassador at II Winter Youth Olympic Games Vira Perederiy and implemented by Ukraine National Olympic Committee with the support of International Olympic Committee.

As a reminder, #OlympicLab is a project that provides high scholars with an opportunity to find out more about Olympic movement and Olympic Games, to meet Ukrainian star athletes and coaches, to learn about active and healthy lifestyle, and to get a unique chance of participating in cultural and educational program of Youth Olympic Games.

#OlympicLab consists of six stages including mental training, Olympic chat, healthy lifestyle workshop, "Eat smart" practical classes of nutrition, classes for Olympic history and philosophy, and volunteer activity.

The project was launched earlier in March at the NOC Headquarters ("Olympic House") where young sport fans took part in the mental training, which is an important part of every athlete's preparation. Star guests Olympic medalist in rhythmic gymnastics Anna Bessonova and Chairman of Ukraine NOC Athletes Commission Olena Hovorova, Olympic medalist in triple jump, shared their knowledge and experience with kids. Deputy Chair of the NOC Medical Commission doctor Ihor Olexenko was also a part of the training.

#OlympicLab project continued on Tuesday, April 19th, when 2012 weightlifting Olympic gold medalist Olexiy Torokhtiy and Greco-Roman wrestling World champion Zhan Beleniuk took part at the Olympic chat. Students from Kyiv schools as well as young athletes from sport clubs participated as well as Olympians and medalists diver Anna Sorokina and sailor Olena Pakholchyk.

Star athletes answered kids' questions regarding their sport careers playing also Olympic quizes and contests.
