Olympic Medalist Olena Pakholchyk will head  Ukraine’s Team at Winter EYOF 2017

Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee has appointed Olena Pakholchyk as Chef de Mission for the 2017 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival.

Olena Pakholchyk, who is double Olympic bronze medalist in sailing, has a solid experience as EYOF teams Chef de Mission at 2015 Winter Festival in Austria and Liechtenstein and at the Summer EYOF of the same year in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The biennial multi-sport event for youth athletes from the 48 EOC member countries is to take place in Erzurum, Turkey, between 11th  and 18th of February, 2017.

Team Ukraine is in on the way of qualification stage now. NOC’s experts plan that 25 athletes in 7 sports will qualify for Erzurum.

38 nations are to take part in the 2017 Winter EYOF to compete in 9 sports: alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, curling, figure skating, ice hockey, short track speed skating, ski jumping, snowboarding.
