Sergey Bubka reelected IAAF Vice President with the highest number of votes

Today during the International Association of Athletics Federations Congress in Doha (Qatar) the elections of the IAAF governing body were held. As its result legendary athlete, Olympic Champion, multiple World Champion, 35-time World Record Holder Sergei Bubka was reelected to the position of IAAF Vice President for a term of 4 years.

The Ukrainian received 139 votes from the national federations of the participating countries. This is the first result among the eleven candidates for the four Vice Presidents of the Association.

Sebastian Coe was reelected as the President of the International Association of Athletics Federations For the next term with 203 votes.

In 2007 Sergey Bubka became Vice President of the IAAF and joined the IAAF Councilю Since 2015 he has served as the Senior Vice President of the IAAF.

All my life I have been serving sports, which has given me a great opportunity to gain a great deal of experience and invaluable knowledge: first as a successful athlete, and later as a sports manager. I am proud to have the opportunity to continue to work  for the benefit of the Olympic Movement and, in particular, the Queen of Sport as the number one Olympic sport in the world. My congratulations to Seb Coe and IAAF Team with all the achievements during these years,”, - said Sergey Bubka.
