Sergey Bubka with Olympians planted trees in the Ukrainian Carpathians as Olympic heritage

The President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, the Olympic champion Sergey Bubka and other famous athletes of the country planted trees in the western part of Ukraine joining “Olympic Heritage" project.

“Protection of the environment and preserving and enhancing our heritage are two very important trends in the world today, as well as in our country in particular. In its activities, the National Olympic Committee pays great attention to the implementation of such events. It is nice to see great initiatives to preserve the Olympic heritage: in different parts of Ukraine, we launch alleys of sporting glory, Olympic museums, memorials in honor of outstanding Olympians”, - said IOC EB Member and IAAF Senior Vice President Sergey Bubka.

He emphasized that the Carpathians is a wonderful region with rich natural beauty and its incredible cultural and historical heritage, which is promoted by such actions. "It is important that such important events should take place in different corners of Ukraine as well as in the world as a whole.
