The NOC of Ukraine Secretary General met Special Olympics Coordinator for Europe

On the 22nd of April the NOC of Ukraine Secretary General Volodymyr GERASHCHENKO met Special Olympics Coordinator for Europe Miroslaw KROGULEK and Special Olympics in Ukraine President Kostyantyn SLYNYAVCHUK. Special Olympics is international charitable organization that contributes to the development of physical culture and sports for individuals with mental retardation and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

The aim of activity is organizing of training and competitions in Olympic sports for individuals with mental retardation, holding Special Olympics World Summer and Winter Games once in four years. For the second year in April under UEFA support European Football Week is held in countries of Europe. Recently Football Week was finished in Ukraine, Miroslaw KROGULEK came to get acquainted with the activity in this sphere. In the meeting he told about work of the organization and expressed the thought that the cooperation with international sports federation and Olympic Committees is necessary for further activity of Special Olympics.

Volodymyr GERASHCHENKO acquainted the guests with the directions of the NOC of Ukraine activity. He expressed the support to Special Olympics as involvement of people into sports is very important and useful problem that is one of the main tasks of the majority of sport organization in the world.
