NOC of Ukraine celebrated “1 year to go until Sochi-2014”

February 7 is exactly 1 year before the start of XXII Olympic Winter Games Sochi-2014. The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine didn’t stand aloof from this important event and also honored this occasion.

The NOC's head of President's office double Olympic bronze medalist Juri Tamm and the owner of the first Winter Olympic medal as a member of the National team of independent Ukraine, the Biathlon bronze medalist at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer Valentyna Tserbe met with Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ukraine Andrei Vorobyov.

"A year from now a grand sport event is waiting for us. I am sure it will be a memorable experience for athletes, coaches and just as much for all sport fans, "- said Juri Tamm.

The head of President's office and Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation discussed the preparation of our athletes for major events in the next four years.

Juri Tamm on behalf of the Olympic family of Ukraine presented the Russian party with "Oberih"- a symbol of happiness and prosperity, which brings good luck and also the mascot of the National team of Ukraine – "Stork".

In her turn Valentyna Tserbe shared with everybody the story of her path to the Olympic "bronze" and wished that Ukrainian and Russian Olympians win as many medals as possible and honor their countries across the world.

It is today in Sochi that our delegation is receiving an invitation from the Organizing Committee of the Games, that we will demonstrate soon.
