NOC of Ukraine joined the Brighton Declaration

Today, on 14th of May, National Olympic Committee President Sergey Bubka signed the Brighton Declaration "Women and Sport".

It means the NOC of Ukraine supports and abides by declared initiatives.

The signing ceremony was held with the participation of NOC Executive Director Nataliya Kovalenko, the NOC of Ukraine Commission "Women and Sport" members and its Chairman Olena Govorova.

The main purpose of the declaration is to develop sports culture that would involve women in all aspects of sports activities effectively as much as possible.

"It should be noted the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine has worked actively on this tendency. At the NOC of Ukraine women occupy the top positions. My signature is a sign of solidarity and an appeal for all to follow the gender principles", said Sergey Bubka.

In a fact, Ukrainian women have won 60% of Olympic medals for our country.

Next year the 6th International Working Group World Conference on Women and sport will be held in Finland. Ukrainian delegation already has an experience and will share it with their colleagues.

"We are always open to cooperation with all who support our aspiration to unite people using sport", concluded the NOC of Ukraine President.

Sergey Bubka also thanked the NOC Commission "Women and Sport" members and Chairman of this Commission Olena Govorova for the contributions to the development of Olympic Movement.
