During 9 years the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine identifies and rewards the best athletes and coaches of the month.

For the fifth time this title was given to the Ukrainian biathlete Vita Semerenko.

In the Olympic House the president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Sergey Bubka awarded the Olympic hero of February and the coaches of the women's biathlon team - Gregory Shamrai and Nadia Bilova, who were named the best coaches of the last month of winter.

In February at the Olympic Games in Sochi Vita Semerenko won two medals. As a member of the women's biathlon team Vita Semerenko together with Olena Pidgrushna, Julia Dzhyma and Valentina Semerenko won the gold medal in the women's relay, and also she got the individual medal - the "bronze" in the sprint race. Her achievements urged the Olympic team of Ukraine on entrusting to Vita Semerenko to be a Ukrainian flag bearer at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games in Sochi.

"It took 8 years for our team to bring home Olympic medal of the Winter Games and 20 years to win a gold medal. And here, in Sochi Ukraine received four Olympic champions and the bronze medalist. These victories were incredible! Vita twice experienced the taste of Olympic victory - and twice made us to feel incredible emotions of happiness and pride"- Sergei Bubka said at the Awarding ceremony.

The President of NOC expressed the words of gratitude to the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine and its President Volodymir Brynzak.
