On April 6th the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace is celebrated for the first time in the world.
The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine took part in the project of the International Olympic Committee «Carton Blanc» («White Card») with participation of the famous Ukrainian Olympians Sergey Bubka, Olexander Usyk, Anna Bessonova, Valeriy Goncharov, Olena Govorova, Olena Sadovnicha, Olexander Krykun and Natalia Dobrynska. On April 4th the celebration of the International Day of Sport started in the Republican high school of physical education by the support of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education and Science.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Dmitro Bulatov, the Chair of the Committee of Physical Education and Sports of Ministry of Education and Science Ievgen Bazhenkov, the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee Viktor Korzh, Olympic champions and medalists Valeriy Goncharov, Olena Govorova, Olexander Krykun, Anna Sorokina, Olena Paholchyk Vadim Huttsayt were present at the event and communicated with the students of the high school. The athletes showed the guests the school infrastructure, playgrounds and sports museum and introduced with their training process.
The students of the school received presents from the organizers of the event, and the management of the institution were thanked officially for their good work in the development of the Olympic movement in Ukraine.
At the end of the event, all participants had their joint picture taken, holding in hands yellow and blue cards, and also white cards for peace.
