Ukraine NOC President Sergey Bubka visited Oslo

Sergey Bubka, IAAF Vice President and Ukraine NOC President, visited Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center on invitation of its co-chair professor Lars Engebretsen, Chief Doctor for the Norwegian Federation of Sports.

After inspecting the facilities, Bubka who is also an IOC Executive Board member, commented, «The unique findings of your research activity will be used for the various programs of both International Olympic Committee and IAAF. I'm also excited that the next step has been done – the recommendations based on the results of your work are available for the athletes through mobile applications, as the ultimate goal of any scientific activity is to out the findings into life».

Bubka also mentioned that a lot has already been done to deliver the knowledge on injury prevention and health protection to athletes on their native languages. «Transferring the information and practical knowledge on how to prevent injuries to athlete at the very start of his career is a mission for every scientist, physician and coach, as well as for every person who cares about the athletes bot before after their retirement».

In Oslo Sergey Bubka also visited sport venues, including Norwegian Olympic Center where he met local Olympic athletes and coaches. He also attended Bislett Games IAAF Diamond League event, meeting Mr Børre Rognlien, President of the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, local NOC Secretary General Mr Inge Andersen.
