Stars of September Were Commemorated At the NOC Headquarters Female wrestler Yulia Tkach and her coach Andriy Pistun have got their awards as Ukraine’s best Olympic athlete and coach at the NOC Headquarters in Kyiv. Sergey Bubka, Ukraine NOC President presented the awards as well as diploma and cash bonuses to both athlete and her coach.
Ukraine’s athletes won two medals at the 2014 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships The last competition day of the 2014 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Nanning, China, brought two medals for Ukraine’s team. Oleh Verniaev repeated his success from 2014 European Championship winning gold medal at the parallel bars, while 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in vault Ihor Radivilov took advantage of his signature apparatus winning silver medal.
Delegation of Ukraine’s NOC made a visit to Georgia The mission of Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee attended Regional Forum of the NOC’s of CIS and Baltic countries in Tbilisi, as well as Georgian NOC 25th anniversary celebration. Bubka re-elected as President of Ukraine National Olympic Committee 7 October 2014, KYIV, Ukraine - Sergey Bubka was re-elected today as the President of Ukraine NOC for the third consecutive four-year term. As a sole candidate for the position, Bubka received 108 votes in favor with 1 against at the 29th General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee in Kyiv.
«Olympic Bench» Emerged In Kyiv Unique ‘Olympic Bench’ emerged in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Tuesday, September 30th, initiated by National Olympic Committee and the Athletes’ Commission. The Bench was constructed and unveiled today at the Obolon quay in Kyiv. The newly elected members of the NOC Athletes’ Commission left their painted palm prints on the Bench alongside the plaque informing where the ‘paintings’ have come from.
NOC Athletes Commission elected Olympic Medalist Olena Hovorova as its Chair Olena Hovorova, 2000 Olympic bronze medalist in triple jump, was elected as a new Chair of the Ukraine NOC Athletes’ Commission on Tuesday in Kyiv. 2012 Gold medalist in weightlifting Olexiy Torokhtiy was elected as Commission’s Deputy Chair. Hovorova, who worked as a Deputy Head of the Athletes’ Commission during the previous term, and Torokhtiy are elected to a four-year term until 2018.
Ukraine’s freestyle wrestling world champion claimed country’s Best Athlete of the month Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee has claimed freestyle wrestler Yulia Tkach (nee Ostapchuk) as country’s Best Athlete of September 2014. Yulia’s coach Andriy Pistun is named month’s Best Coach.
NOC maintains partnership with Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry The Memorandum of Cooperation between Ukraine NOC and Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was signed the Presidents of both organizations, Sergey Bubka and Gennady Chizhikov respectively, on Wednesday, September 11th, in NOC headquarter in Kyiv during the Executive Board’s meeting.
