National Olympic Committee raises additional funds of US$300,000 from the IOC for Ukrainian athletes The Ukraine National Olympic Committee has today received a positive letter from IOC President Mr Thomas Bach, at Sergey Bubka’s request, to provide financial aid for the Ukraine national team’s participation in international competitions and training camps.
Zhan Beleniuk was awarded as the best athlete of April Today the sports heroes of April were awarded at the Olympic House. The best athlete of the month Zhan Beleniuk, Greco-Roman wrestler, has received a diploma, a statuette and cash prize from the President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Sergey Bubka. The athlete’s coaches Vitaliy Kyselytsa and Oleksiy Dobrovolskiy also got their deserved rewards as the best coaches of April.
SERGEY BUBKA PAYED TRIBUTE TO VALERY LOBANOVSKY 12 years passed since outstanding Ukrainian football manager Valery Lobanovsky passed away. Lobanovsky’s family members as well as number of his friends, colleagues, young and former players and fans gathered on Tuesday, May 13, at the Baykove cemetery in Kyiv and near the monument at the Dynamo stadium in Kyiv to pay the tribute to the most successful Ukrainian football manager ever.
The names of the Ukrainian «Heroes of Sports Year» are known The Ukrainian sports family gathered in the «Olympic courtyard» of NSC «Olimpiyskiy» on the occasion of the VIII Ukrainian ceremony «The Heroes of Sports Year» to honor the outstanding achievements of Ukrainian athletes. The performance, organized by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, brought together prominent Olympians from different generations, each of whom has made the unvalued contribution to the development of the Olympic Movement in Ukraine.
