IOC President visits Ukrainian Olympic House On 1 July IOC President Jacques Rogge visited Kyiv and met Olympic Family of Ukraine in the newly-opened Ukrainian Olympic House – home of the Ukrainian NOC. “This is my 5th visit to Ukraine and 3rd visit as IOC President, - reminded Jacques Rogge, - I’ve been a witness to different phases of development of the Olympic movement in Ukraine.
Sergey Bubka to be inducted into IAAF Hall of Fame Vice-Presidents of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF): IOC Member, NOC of Ukraine President Sergey Bubka and Sebastian Coe (GBR) are the latest two legends to be named amongst the 24 inaugural Members of the IAAF Hall of Fame which has been created to mark the year of the IAAF Centenary. This joint announcement today marks the occasions respectively of the Oceania Area’s IAAF Centenary Gala, Cairns, Australia at which IOC Member Sergey Bubka is guest of honour, and a leg of the Olympic Torch Relay, Sheffield, England, a city where Sebastian Coe, the Chairman of LOCOG, the Organizing Committee of the Games of XXX Olympiad London 2012, was brought up and will be one of the torch bearers.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT KYIV, June 22 – At its extraordinary meeting today, the General Assembly of the NOC of Ukraine was presented the independent investigation commission’s report regarding the information disclosed by the BBC on May 22, 2012. The Extraordinary General Assembly approved the decision of the Executive Board to accept Volodymyr Gerashchenko’s resignation from the list of NOC Members and from the position of Secretary General for violating the fundamental principles of the Olympic Charter, the rules of the IOC Code of Ethics and his membership obligations as defined in the NOC of Ukraine Statutes.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT KYIV, June 20 – Executive Board of the NOC of Ukraine held its meeting today to head the report of the independent Investigation Commission regarding the information disclosed by the BBC on May 22, 2012. Composition of the Commission: Sergii Koziakov – Head of the Commission, Attorney in Law, Member of Academic Council of Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko; Olga Zhukovska – Vice-President of the Union of Advocates of Ukraine, Member of UEFA Appellate Committee; Valentyn Zagariya – President of the Ukrainian Bar Association According to the outcome of the investigation carried out by the Commission, Volodymyr Gerashchenko, while being NOC Member and Secretary General, had grossly violated the basic principles of Olympism by his unacceptable behavior to engage in a conversation regarding the possible selling of tickets, thus damaging the image of the national and international Olympic Movements.
