NOC OF UKRAINE MOVED TO NEW HEADQUARTERS KYIV, May 29 – Olympic House, the new Headquarters of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine, opened its doors today in Kyiv. The symbolic ribbon was cut by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, President of the NOC of Ukraine Sergey Bubka and champion of the 1952 Summer Olympic Games in Helsinki (artistic gymnastics) Nina Bocharova.
BBC INVESTIGATION ON OLYMPIC TICKETS – SERGEY BUBKA STATEMENT QUEBEC, May 22 – Sergey Bubka, President of the Ukraine National Olympic Committee, has commented on a BBC report which suggested that a senior member of the Ukraine National Olympic Committee, Volodymyr Gerashchenko, had agreed to sell London2012 Olympic tickets on the black market. Sergey Bubka came back to Kyiv ahead of schedule to investigate the tickets allegations KYIV, May 24 – Ukrainian NOC President Sergey Bubka came back from Sport Accord meeting in Quebec, Canada, to Kyiv ahead of schedule to investigate the allegations made by BBC regarding 2012 tickets. Speaking to mass media at the specially arranged briefing in the airport Bubka informed that he briefly talked to Mr Gerashchenko, NOC Secretary General who is involved in the BBC story, right after the launch of the news suspending him until the investigation ends.
Sergey Bubka: “Boycotts are pointless” SARANSK, May 2012 – During his visit to Russia for the IAAF World Race Walking Cup, IOC Member and IAAF Vice President Sergey Bubka spoke to “Sport-Express” about his vision on the UEFA Euro 2012 boycott talks, as well as the athletics legacy of the tournament and the ambitions of his country for hosting major sport championships. “Any boycotts of sports events are pointless”, Bubka said when asked his opinion on the talks about potential boycott of Ukraine’s part of the tournament by some European countries.
NOC of Ukraine Changed Its Address KYIV, May 3 – The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine has moved to a new office. Olympic House, which is now home to the committee, is located in a historic part of downtown Kyiv, Podil, and will soon open its door officially (the date of the opening to be informed later).
New Athletics Stadium in Serbia Named after Sergey Bubka SMEREDEVO, April 30 – A symbolic foundation stone of a new athletics stadium was laid today in the town of Smeredevo (Serbia) situated 50 km from Belgrade. The venue is named after Sergey Bubka – Olympic champion, 10 times outdoor and indoor world champion, 35 times pole vault world record holder, IOC member, IAAF Vice-President and President of the NOC of Ukraine.
Ukraine Celebrates Olympic Day KYIV, April 21 – This year Ukraine was the first country to celebrate Olympic Day. The event which is run annually in June by around 170 NOCs of the world to commemorate the date when the International Olympic Committee was created (23 June 1894) was held in Kyiv mid April.

Sports Heroes of the 2011 Anounced KYIV, March 25 – International Center of Culture and Arts opened its doors today for the guests of the 6th edition of the “Heroes of the Sports Year” Awards, initiated by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. Famous Olympians, State officials and show-business celebrities came together for the annual celebration to honour those who made the most significant difference in Ukrainian sports in 2011.
