IOC Executive Director for the Olympic Games Concluded His Visit to Western Ukraine Gilbert Felli, IOC Executive Director for the Olympic Games arrived in Ukraine last weekend. The visit of the IOC representative took place within the framework of preparation of the Ukrainian bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Sergey Bubka was reelected the President of the Ukrainian NOC On Thursday, 7th of October, the XXIV General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine elected the Governing Body of the NOC for the period of 2011-2014. A famous Ukrainian athlete, Olympic Champion, IOC Member and Hero of Ukraine Sergey Bubka was reelected the President of the NOC.
All-Ukrainian Olympic Lesson Started in the Main Square of the Country All-Ukrainian Olympic Lesson, a nationwide traditional campaign of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Ministry for Family, Youth and Sport and Ministry of Education and Science, started on September 11, on the Day of Physical Culture and Sport in the Independence Square of Kyiv. XXII Summer Olympic Games Medalists – 30 years after The celebration in honor of the XXII Summer Olympic Games Medalists was held in Kiev (Ukraine) on July, 21st. Initiated and organized by the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sport, this event assembled 35 Ukrainian Olympians to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1980 Moscow Games.
Olympism Birthday Was Celebrated in Kyiv On 19 June Ukraine's capital celebrated Olympic Day, unique mass sport celebration that is traditionally held on the occasion of the establishment of the International Olympic Committee (23 June 1894), and this year it was also devoted to the 20th anniversary of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine foundation (22 December 1990). Having started in Hydro Park with the race of the Ministry of Interior staff, the celebration moved to the main square of Kyiv.
The NOCs of Ukraine and Macedonia Signed The Agreement For Sports Cooperation The NOC of Ukraine President Sergey Bubka and the NOC of Macedonia President Vasil Tupurkovski signed the agreement for sports cooperation yesterday, in Skopje (Republic of Macedonia). According to its articles the countries expressed the determination to give to each other best possible support, in any occasion that may appear, and to encourage the National Sport Federations to coordinate their actions and foster their bilateral cooperation in the area of Olympic sport.
