Verniaiev Won Silver Medal of the All Around Competition in Rio

Gymnast Oleh Verniaiev added another silver to the medal tally of Ukraine's team at the ХХХІ Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Verniaev produced 92.266 points to take the second place of the all around competitions in men's artistic gymnastic on Thursday, August 9th. The gold medal went to the reigning all around Olympic champion Kohei Uchimura from Japan (92.365), while Great Britain's Max Whitlock won bronze medal with 90.641 points.

Ukraine's top gymnast received massive support at the Rio Olympic Arena with National Olympic Committee's president Sergey Bubka and Minister of Sport Ihor Zhdanov joined Oleh's family and the group of athletes and fans.

Sergey Bubka was among the first to congratulate Verbiaiev and his coach Gennady Sartynsky aknoledging that the medal has become a result of years of their persistent hard work and effective cooperation. Bubka wished athlete and his coach to make next successful steps and perform well at the apparatus finals in Rio.
