Olympic lesson was launched in Kyiv

Ukraine’s main sport arena, National Sports Complex “Olympiysky”, hosted all-Ukrainian Olympic lesson, an annual зкщоусе of the National Olympic Committee, Ukraine’s Ministry of Youth and Sport and Ukraine’s Ministry education and science, supported by city and region administrations, Ukraine’s Sport Committee, Ukraine’s Committee of Sport for Disabled and “Sport for Everybody” Center.

The launch of this event coincided with the National Day of Sport and with the start of UNESCO European Week of Sport going on until September, 18.

For twelve years in a row, this nationwide sport celebration is purposed to promote Olympic values, to encourage the youth in active lifestyle and harmonious development, and to promote the history and achievements of Olympic movement in Ukraine. This event attracted a capacity crowd of sport fans and healthy lifestyle activists.

President of Ukraine Olympic Committee Sergey Bubka took part in ceremony accompanied by the representatives of government, parliament, as well as national and non-governmental sport bodies. Ukraine's elite athletes including medalists from Rio 2016 joined officials at the celebration.

Sergey Bubka said, 'All-Ukrainian Olympic lesson traditionally opens for everybody the unique world of sport through telling history of Olympic movement and providing a chance to get to know our prominent Olympians'.

Olympic lesson was appropriately started with a true Olympic warming up and went on with numerous master classes, contests, relays, quizzes. Cherry on top was Olympic quest where participants could practice different sports at specially equipped courts, get scores and then exchange the scores to Olympic souvenirs at Olympic market.

After great start, this sports festival takes over from Kyiv to all regions of Ukraine. Local events are going on with Olympic lessons at schools involving Ukrainian 'Olympians Under Olympic Week' project.
