Ukraine Has Nominated Young Ambassador at 2017 Winter EYOF

Vira Perederiy, 2008 Olympics finalist and World Student Games’ medalist in rhythmic gymnastics, was nominated as Young Ambassador for the 2017 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival in Erzurum, Turkey.

Mrs. Perederiy, who was a Young Ambassador for the II Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer in 2016, will become a part of the pilot educational project initiated by the European Olympic Committees aimed to bring Olympic values in line with Olympic Agenda 2020 and design new roadmap for the development of the Olympic movement.

Every National Olympic Committee nominates its Young Ambassador who will take online educational courses on cultural legacy of the EOC. The courses will start on December 8th, with EOC’s ‘Olympic Culture and Legacy’ Commission and EOC’s Athletes’ Commission to be involved actively.

The ambassadors will then transfer their knowledge to young athletes who will compete at Winter EYOF teaching them the fundamentals of the Movement.

Young Ambassadors’ project was initiated by the International Olympic Committee for the Youth Olympic Games and is delivered successfully at every YOG edition since Singapore 2010.
