Today the President of the International Olympic Committee visited the NOC of Ukraine headquarters where he had a meeting with its staff. At the meeting there were also present the IOC member in Ukraine Mr.

Valeriy Borzov, Olympic Champion (artistic gymnastics) Mrs. Lyudmyla Turishcheva, Executive Director of the NOC of Ukraine Mr. Anatoliy Domashenko.

Sergey Bubka introduced the NOC staff to Dr Rogge stressing its ability to work as one team that is devoted to the Olympic Movement and respects Olympic ideals.

Mr. Bubka also thanked the NOC staff for everyday work for the sake of the Olympic Movement emphasizing that joint efforts of staff members, their professionalism and devotion help to implement the initiatives of the NOC of Ukraine. The daily activity of the staff creates the basis for the promotion of Olympism in our society and further development of the national Olympic Movement.

Dr Jacques Rogge expressed his high appreciation of the activity of NOC staff. Its contribution is very important for Ukrainian society, especially for young people. Nowadays the youth encounters many problems: threat of unemployment, threat of terrorism, drugs attack. Sport can teach young people to live in the spirit of Fair Play, equality and justice.

Addressing Dr Rogge Mr. Anatoliy Domashenko, in his part, thanked the NOC staff for their efforts stating that their teamwork, energy and devotion ensure dynamic activity of the NOC of Ukraine.
