Sergey Bubka, Ukraine’s National Olympic Committee President, has signed the official letter accepting the invitation from the IOC for Team Ukraine to take part in XXIII Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, Korea.

The International Olympic Committee holds a tradition of sending formal letters of invitation for the Games to every NOC.
Sergey Bubka spoke to national media about Team Ukraine’s preparation saying, ‘Less than a year left until the Opening of the 2018 Winter Games, and the priority for everyone involved in athletes’ preparation is to consolidate efforts in order to provide the best possible opportunities for every future Olympian.
The funding and organization of the preparation process is a responsibility of the Ministry of sport and national sport federations, but the National Olympic Committee is always here to support athletes and teams’.
Bubka reminded that the NOC pays out grants for 26 athletes of the future 2018 Olympic team between November 2016 and February 2018.

The hosts expect athletes from 95 NOCs to compete at the Games in 7 winter sports (15 disciplines).
The qualification for the Games is under way until January 15, 2018, with January 28th is a deadline for the final entries.
