Prime-Minister of Ukraine met with Olympians

Ukraine is proud of its Olympic team, which should be an example for young people. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov on Friday during a presentation of honorary diplomas of the Cabinet of Ministers to the champions and winners of XXX Summer Olympic Games.

"We are proud of our athletes. Believe me, we have been sincerely rooting for you, and I want to wish you a lot of sporting success, sporting longevity. I ask you, pay attention to mass sports. You should set an example for our children. You know it will be set up schools of Olympic Reserve" - Mykola Azarov said.

He noted that will be drawn conclusions by the results of the 2012 Olympics. "We will make conclusions from the outcomes of the Olympic Games and evaluate the positives and negatives" - the PM said.

Mykola Azarov stressed that Ukraine had fought properly at Olympics in London. At the same time, he added that for more properly results the Government will pay more attention for modernization of Olympic infrastructure and development of mass sports.

According to the PM, as early as 2013, in particular, will be constructed new Olympic track and field arena in Kiev for the preparation of athletes. "For high-Olympic accomplishments we need not only athletic performance, but also a serious scientific training, medical training and the appropriate material and technical base. Our Olympic training centres need modernization and this will be done. In the coming year we will begin to modernize and create all the conditions for our athletes" - the Prime Minister concluded.

Olympic champion in weightlifting Oleksiy Torokhtiy on behalf of all athletes thanked Mykola Azarov for high recognition of Olympians achievement.

Captain of boxing team Oleksandr Usyk presented Mykola Azarov souvenirs boxing gloves and NOC of Ukraine President Sergey Bubka – the torch of the London Olympic relay.
