Ukrainian NOC President and IOC Executive Board member Sergey Bubka visited Paralympic Village at the London’s East End meeting with the athletes, coaches and officials from Ukrainian Paralympic team.
After examining the accommodation condition for paralympians in the village, Bubka met with the athletes and the President of Ukrainian Paralympic Committee Valery Sushkevich congratulating them with the successful performance. Team Ukraine currently placed on the 4th place in the 2012 Paralympic Games' medal count winning (by the end of Tuesday, September 4th) 51 medals, 19 of which are gold medals.
'Olympians and Paralympians are one single family', said Sergey Bubka talking to athletes. 'They share the same goals, the same ideas and the same dreams. Olympic athletes and supporters admire the performances of Paralympians who glorify human's spirit'.
Bubka also met the IPC President Sir Philip Craven later that day expressing his delight about the fantastic organization of the Games and about support given by British public to the Paralympic athletes. IPC President in his turn said words of admiration to the performance of Ukrainian Paralympic Team in London.
