Our women’s biathlon team finished second in the relay

At the Biathlon World Cup in Austrian Hochfilzen the Ukrainian women’s team of Vita Semerenko, Valja Semerenko, Juliya Dzhyma and Olena Pidhrushna finished in 1 hour 12 minutes and 15.5 seconds and won a silver medal in 4x6 km relay.

Vita Semerenko was the first-leg participant. She missed 1 target and finished seventh for a changeover to her sister Valja. Although feeling not completely recovered after bronchitis, Valja coped with her stage. However, three additional shots cost her a lot of time. So Julia Dzhyma started ninth but her perfect shooting and speed brought her to the fourth position. Olena Pidhrushna coped with her task even faster. All ten shots hit the target and thirst for "silver" motivated our captain so much that she beat Darya Domracheva (BLR) by 11.2 seconds.

It's Olena's second medal in the season. In World Cup 1 in Swedish Oestersund she also won silver medal in sprint.

The NOC of Ukraine President Sergey Bubka congratulated the athletes and coaches with successful season beginning, wishing them even better continuation.
