National Olympic Committee of Ukraine named biathlete Olena Pidgrushna best athlete of the country in January, and her personal coach Igor Pochynok got the award as the best coach of the month.

The main reason to take this decision were two medals won by Ternopil athlete on the World Cup – "gold" in women's relay in German Oberhoff and "silver" in Italian Antholz in the pursuit.

Moreover, Olena Pidgrushna is new fashion setter in determining the best athlete of the month. For the first time the prestigious statuette and a diploma of sports hero of the month twice in a row fall in one hand!

It's important to mention that the captain of Ukrainian biathlon team won the title of best in December-2012.

Totally it's the third such award for Pidgrushna from the National Olympic Committee.
