Yesterday a real breathtaking event took place in the National Drama Theatre after Ivan Franko. The heroes of the 2007 Sports Year run the show.

It is for the second time the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry for Family, Youth and Sports of Ukraine have honoured those who were victors at the world sports arenas and presented with dignity their country over this year period.
The reliable partners of the celebration were the NOC of Ukraine partners, i.e. Mobile Company “MTC”, Coca-Cola and Rodovid Bank.
From year to year the All-Ukrainian Sports Award Ceremony is gaining in strength, attracting more and more new worshippers, among which are athletes, politicians, and art and culture workers.
A real adornment of the event was actresses and actors of the theatre: Bogdan Beniuk, Natalia Sumska, Liudmila Smorodina, as well as famous Ukrainian singers: Asiia Akhat, Viktor Pavlik, Ani Lorak and others.
The whole sports family had gathered together on this festive day. The famous athletes who brought fame to Ukrainian sport by their victories, the pride and honour of Ukraine, and new champions who follow the steps of their predecessors.
The Ukrainian Sports Academy was entrusted with important mission to select the best of the nominees, which it successfully completed.
Thus the following nominees were acknowledged the best in 12 nominations:
- “The Best Sportswoman of the Year” – Anna Bezsonova
- “The Best Sportsman of the Year” – Ibragim Aldatov
- “The Best Coach of the Year” – Iryna Deryugina
- “The Best Team of the Year” – Ukrainian Fencing Women Team (sabre): Olena Khromova, Olga Kharlak, Nina Kozlova, Galyna Pundyk
- “Sansation of the Year” – Mykyta Nesterenko
- “The Best Sports Organiser” – Grygoriy Surkis
- “Person of Fortitude” – Volodymyr Natalchuk
- “Sponsor of the Sport Year” – Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine Ltd.
- “Together with Olympians” – Vasyl Virastyuk
- “Fair Play” - Ukrainian Fencing Women Team (epee): Yeva Vybornova, nadiya Kazymyrchuk, Olga Partala, Yana Shemyakina
- “Sports Glory of Ukraine” – Nina Bocharova and Ivan Bogdan
- “Public Selection” – Volodymyr Klichko.
