The NOC of Ukraine President Sergey Bubka has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with his counterpart from Qatar, NOC Secretary General and CEO H.E. Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
According to the Memorandum, two National Olympic Committees will strengthen sports relations between two nations, share expertise and research in the field of sports science, medicine and physical education, as well as knowledge and experience in sports events' organization.
Both NOCs declare their strong intention to cooperate in the fight against doping and unsportsmanlike behavior.
"I am very pleased to launch our cooperation with Qatar. I have visited this country few months ago and witnessed the tremendous progress of sport and Olympic movement there. I am confident both countries can share their rich experience and skills", - Sergey Bubka said, adding, "It is symbolic that we sign the Memorandum in this beautiful city which is considered the Olympic capital of the world. I'm sure the spirit of Lausanne will make our cooperation even more fruitful".
"We have great relations in different areas between our countries. Ukraine is a very sportive country, with great traditions and famous Olympic medalists. I think we share the same vision of development of sport and we can learn from each other. I hope to visit Ukraine over the next few months", - H.E. Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani mentioned.
The Memorandum of Understanding between NOCs of Ukraine and Qatar will remain in force for four years.
