Nawal El Moutawakel: ‘I’m impressed of what is done in Donetsk in terms of athletics legacy of the IAAF World Youth Championships’

High class competition facility RSC ‘Olympiysky’ as well as restored ‘Kirovets’ training venue would be in disposal of the professional and amateur athletes as a legacy of the IAAF World Youth Championships. It will surely give momentum for young athletes of the city of Donetsk for more active involvement in sport activity. This was the common belief of the honourable quests and the participants of the event who examined the legacy left for the sport of athletics in the city guided by Donetsk native and IOC Member Sergey Bubka.

The group of the high profile officials with IOC Members and IAAF Council Members Irena Szewinska and Nawal El Moutawakel among them visited a number of sport facilities in Donetsk. They inspected the venues of the championship, but also were guests of specialized Olympic sport school named by Sergey Bubka which is part of the national sport educational system.

A lot of young and talented kids study at the Olympic sport school. Due to the legacy of the IAAF World Youth Championships they have got world class facility for the practice and competitions.

Nawal El Moutawakel who has been a Chairperson of the IOC Evaluation and Coordination Commissions for the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, said 'I'm going back home fascinated and impressed of what is done in Donetsk in terms of athletics legacy of the IAAF World Youth Championships. Let me congratulate the city host of the event for the great efforts to involve young people to sport activity'.
