20 athletes from Ukraine arrived to Sopot, Poland, on Wednesday, March 5th, to compete at the 15th IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships.

Sergey Bubka, who is Ukraine National Olympic Committee President, IAAF Vice President and Olympic Champion, met the team welcoming them at the Championships.

Bubka commented after the meeting, «I was really amazed to meet the national team members and team staff including National Federation's President Ihor Hotsul and Team Chief Natalia Dobrynska, 2008 Heptathlon Olympic Champion and 2012 World Indoor Champion and World Record Holder in pentathlon. I felt they are ready and inspired to represent Ukraine at the indoor season's major championship sending a message of support to our fellow countrymen. I shared some experience of how to prepare mentally and physically for the competitions and wished them inspiration to perform well. I can say now that I'm sure these young people will do their best competing for the glory of our country! Good luck!»
