NOCs of Ukraine and Georgia signed the Memorandum of Cooperation

Sergey Bubka, Ukraine NOC President, signed the Memorandum of Cooperation with his Georgian counterpart Leri Khabelov.

The Memorandum declares to fasten the friendly and effective cooperation in various spheres including 'Sport for All' program, sport for special needs, sport medicine, anti-doping programmes and management of the sport venues. The sides also plan to involve the athletes, coaches and experts from both countries to the training camps and sport competitions both in Georgia and Ukraine.

Sergey Bubka commented after the Memorandum was signed, 'I'm happy that long-termed cooperation with Georgia has now got the formal acknowledgement. Georgia and Ukraine has enough in common to joint our efforts push the Olympic movement forward. I'm sure that our effective cooperation, exchange of experience and knowledge between the NOCs would help to promote Olympic values within both friendly nations'.

Bubka, who is also IOC EB member and IAAF Vice President, voiced his confidence that the next major sport event in Georgia – XIII summer Youth Olympic Festival – would be held on the highest level. Bubka said, 'Ukraine's young athletes are looking forward to the event where they will participate. I have no doubt that EYOF in Tbilisi will be a great success'.
