Meeting of Dr. Jacques Rogge with Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksandr Moroz Today morning the IOC President Jacques Rogge had a meeting with the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksandr Moroz. At the meeting there were present the IOC Members – NOC President Sergey Bubka and Valeriy Borzov, NOC vice president Volodymyr Brynzak, NOC Secretary General Volodymyr Gerashchenko, Chairman of the Parliament Committee for Family, Youth and Sport Mykola Tomenko, the Parliament Committee members – Ravil Safiulin, Viktor Korzh, Elbrus Tedeyev and Oleksandr Volkov.At the beginning of the meeting the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament said that during last Olympic Games the Ukrainian athletes achieved good results in many sports disciplines.

Dr. Jacques Rogge has seen the historical sights of Kyiv After a great number of official meetings and ceremonies the IOC President had a good opportunity to see historical monuments and picturesque places of the capital of Ukraine.During a tree-hour tour over the city Jacques Rogge visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra - an association of a museum and monastery in use – where with great interest he got acquainted with a history of the monastery, the museums, which are located in the reserve territory, their expositional, exhibitional activity.After the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Dr. Rogge visited an outdoor exhibition of the National Museum of Great Patriotic War where he could also admire unique picturesque places of Kyiv.

REPORT from the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine on the Olympic Day Run 2003 According to decision of the Executive Committee of the NOC of Ukraine (Resolution # 16 dated 24 April 2003), regional divisions of the NOC of Ukraine in close cooperation with local sports organizations held the Olympic Day Run on 23 June 2003 or during the days close to this date. The Olympic Day Run in 2003 was traditional festival of sport and physical culture in which wide sections of the population took part.

Preparation of athletes to the Olympic Games needs much money and the trip for Ukrainian funs can cost just 1 hryvna On the 10th of July at the traditional press-conference of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sport (SCPCS) and the NOC of Ukraine there were discussed the matters related to the preparation of Ukrainian athletes for the Olympic Games, preparation of the capital of the Games 2004 itself and opportunity to visit the motherland of the Olympic Games, the capital of Greece Athens by tourists and guests from Ukraine. The Head of SCPCS and Vice-President of he NOC of Ukraine Mr. Mykhola Kostenko told the audience about the situation with the preparation of our athletes for the Games of XXVIII Olympiad in Athens 2004.

Third international scientific students' conference On 22-24 May Third international scientific students' conference "Student, science and sport in XXI century" is being held on the basis of National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine in Kyiv. The conference is organized by Ukrainian State Committee on matters of Physical Culture and Sports, National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Olympic Academy of Ukraine, National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine and Borys SHAHLIN International Charity Fund "Development of Olympic reserves".
