ALIGN gets underway: a new project to bring about change in sports administration

The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine is launching the ambitious ALIGN initiative (Advancing Leadership, Inclusion, and Gender Equality in Neighbourhood Sports with Europe). This is an Erasmus+ Sport project, co-funded by the European Union, aimed at transforming the management of the sports sector in Ukraine and Moldova.
The ALIGN project aims to make sports governance more inclusive, transparent and fully compliant with EU standards and the principles of the Olympic Movement. Over a two-year period (April 2026 – March 2028), the initiative will work to implement systemic changes that will remain relevant long after the active phase has ended. ALIGN will provide support to NOCs, sports federations and industry leaders.
ALIGN is being implemented under the coordination of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in partnership with the NOC of Moldova, the University of Vienna and the non-governmental organisation ‘Impact Force’.
To keep stakeholders informed about the initiative’s progress, an official project channel has already been set up on LinkedIn, where news, results and opportunities for representatives of the sporting community will be published.
