An All-Ukrainian sports competition for employees in the energy sector took place in Bukovina

Around 200 employees from leading companies in the energy sector, including the power and electrical engineering, nuclear, coal and oil and gas industries, took part in the competition.

The programme included five sports: 3x3 basketball, volleyball, tug-of-war, futsal and draughts.

During the opening and closing ceremonies, the participants were welcomed by Heorhii Mazurashu, Chair of the Sub-Committee on Physical Culture and Mass Sport of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Committee on Youth and Sport; Nataliia Omelchuk, Chair of the NGO ‘All-Ukrainian Physical Culture and Sports Society “Ukraine”’; Oleksandr Davydenko, Chair of the Trade Union of Energy and Electrical Engineering Industry Workers of Ukraine; Volodymyr Barabakh, Chair of the Chernivtsi Regional Council of Trade Unions; and Pavlo Oleshchuk, Chair of the Central Sports and Fitness Club ‘Atom of Ukraine’ and Assistant to the Chair of the Nuclear Industry Trade Union.

Congratulatory messages were also sent to the participants by Matvii Bidnyi, Minister of Youth and Sport of Ukraine, and Vadym Guttsait, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine congratulates the participants and winners of the competition and thanks the organisers for holding this sporting event, which brings together representatives of the energy sector through sport and a healthy lifestyle.
