October 14th, 2026

On 10 October, the second day of the 46th seminar of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) and the IOC Olympic Solidarity Forum took place in Split (Croatia), dedicated to the practical aspects of preparing sports delegations for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and European sporting events.

The Ukrainian delegation at the event was represented by Lyudmyla Panchenko, Executive Director of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine; Iryna Panina, Head of the Department for Sports Development and Preparation for Olympic Events; and Nelia Demyanets, Manager of the International Department.

The participants focused on the potential for using modern technologies, digital tools and remote support to organise the delegations’ work effectively during the Games. A separate workshop was devoted to issues relating to keeping athletes and official team representatives informed, their preparation for competitions and their interaction with the organisers.

One of the thematic sessions focused on the use of digital technologies, artificial intelligence and remote support for the work of sports delegations during the Games. Olga Danko — a member of the Executive Committee of the NOC of Ukraine and the EOC Commission on Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence — developed the workshop in collaboration with her colleagues and moderated the working discussions. Participants explored practical ways of applying AI and automation, coordination between teams on site and at headquarters, data protection and ensuring continuous support for delegations.

Through group discussions, representatives of the National Olympic Committees exchanged practical experiences, discussed current challenges and drew up recommendations on improving the preparation and support of delegations at international competitions.

During the closing session, participants presented the findings of the thematic groups and joint recommendations. In addition, individual consultations were held between the National Olympic Committees and representatives of the EOC, the IOC’s Olympic Solidarity programme, and the organisers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The two-day event served as a platform for professional dialogue, the exchange of experiences and the search for new solutions for the development of the Olympic Movement in Europe.
