The official logo for the 4th European Games 2027 in Istanbul has been unveiled: a bridge between continents and dreams

June 18th, 2026

The European Olympic Committees, in collaboration with the Organising Committee, have unveiled the official logo and visual identity for the 4th European Games, which will be hosted by Istanbul from 16 to 27 June 2027. The new visual identity, which will serve as the face of the continent’s premier multi-sport event, is deeply symbolic and reflects the spirit of a city that has historically stood at the crossroads of cultures and civilisations.

The design of the new emblem is centred on key symbols of Istanbul and pan-European Olympic values. The central element is an artistic silhouette of the Bosphorus Bridge, emphasising the city’s unique geographical role — connecting Europe and Asia. Harmoniously woven into this framework are tulip petals, a traditional cultural symbol of the region, which embody unity, diversity and cultural exchange. Above the bridge rises the flame of the European Games, symbolising the boundless passion, energy and high ambitions of elite sport. At the same time, the emblem’s multifaceted, vibrant colour palette reflects the principles of sustainable development and showcases the diversity of cultures and sporting disciplines.

The designers’ vision extends far beyond mere geography and holds metaphorical significance for the Olympic Movement. As Mihai Covaliu, Chair of the EOC Coordination Commission, emphasised, it is entirely fitting that the bridge has become the symbol of Istanbul 2027. It connects not only continents, but also athletes with their dreams, countries with one another, and a new generation of champions with the Olympic future that awaits them at Los Angeles 2028.

The organisers also emphasise the unprecedented scale of the upcoming Games. Around 7,500 of Europe’s finest athletes are expected to take part in the 4th European Games. They will compete in 26 sports, 22 of which are Olympic disciplines, and vie for 334 sets of medals. The competition promises to be incredibly intense, as, in addition to the medals, the tournament will serve as a crucial qualifying stage — during which 122 places for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games will be up for grabs.
